Non si dovrebbe mai considerare se stessi rispettati quando si è riveriti da parte degli altri.
Non ci si dovrebbe, quindi, rattristare quando non si è riveriti da altri.
Le persone agiscono secondo la propria natura, nello stesso modo in cui aprono e si chiudono le palpebre.
Solo il saggio rispetta veramente gli altri.
Gli ignoranti, gli ingiusti, i disonesti, non rispettano mai coloro che sono degni di rispetto.
Infatti costoro mostrano sempre mancanza di rispetto nei confronti di tali persone.

One should never regard oneself as honored who is honored by others. One should not, therefore, grieve when one is not honored by others. People act according to their nature just as they open and shut their eyelids. It is only the learned who pay respect to others. They who are ignorant, unrighteous, or deceitful, never pay respect to those who are worthy of respect. On the other hand, they always show disrespect to such persons.
